Personal Data Protection and Privacy
The personal data collected through the Portuguese Science Summit 2025 registration form, as well as other data necessary for the organization and management of the event, will be processed by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT) and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA), as joint data controllers, under a Joint Data Protection Responsibilities Agreement.
This processing will be carried out in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation - Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), ensuring respect for the principles of lawfulness, transparency, minimization and data security.
The data will be processed and shared between the two entities in order to guarantee the effective management of the event, namely for the purposes of communicating with participants, registering attendance and logistical support.
Given the public nature of the event and the institutional interest of FCT and NOVA in publicizing it, images and sounds of participants (photographs, videos and/or audio) may be captured during the event.
This processing is carried out on the basis of the legitimate interest of the organizing entities, under the terms of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, and its purpose is the promotion and public appreciation of the event, through the institutional channels of the responsible entities (websites, newsletters, social networks, among others).
Participants may, at any time and on the basis of their particular situation, object to the capture or use of their image or sound, under the terms of Article 21 of the GDPR.
