Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre

The Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre, or Alfândega Nova, at the foot of the final bed and on the right bank of the River Douro, was inaugurated at the end of the 19th century. Looking from the Ribeira to the Foz, this building was, for many years, the point of entry for goods supplying the northern region, with the help of a railway branch that connected it to Campanhã. Today, transformed and with new functions, Alfândega Nova can be the starting point for debate, knowledge and history. Renovated in the early 1990s by Eduardo Souto de Moura, the building is now home to a congress center (which will welcome us) and a museum.
